HIV Counselling and Testing

Over the past 20 years, voluntary counselling and testing programs (VCT) have helped millions of people learn their HIV status, yet more than 80% of people living with HIV in low and middle-income countries do not know that they are infected. Efforts are urgently needed to increase the provision of HIV testing through a wider range of effective and safe options.

HIV testing is a critical entry point to life-sustaining health care services for people living with HIV and AIDS and service delivery models need to be expanded to testing in antenatal care, sexually transmitted infection clinics, in-patient wards as well as free-standing client-initiated testing centres.NACA and UNAIDS encourage Nigerians to visit VCT services .WHO encourages countries to create free VCT centres as well as to standardize and expand provider-initiated testing and counselling so that more people learn their HIV status. However, endorsement of provider-initiated HIV testing and counselling is not an endorsement of coercive or mandatory HIV testing.

in Nigeria,NACA which is an acronym for national agency for the control if aids has spread its centres in all the 36 states in Nigeria creating an opportunity for everyone to access free HIV counselling and tests.avail yourself this opportunity to be sure of your status.go for a test today.

First of all, please accept my personal Commendations for your Efforts, not too many a young person, will leave all the cares and material temptations of youth and dedicate their time to working/caring for people in need, having said this,i would also love to share some thoughts about AIDS,Though this is not out of experience caring for HIV Positive persons, but through social interactions, with friends and aquaintances, and hopefully, this might help those of us,who read this comment.
Its my humble opinion, that those of us not married yet,and some of us,i will refer as Involutary Flirts,to always be Conscious about our Social habits, especially,as regards our relationship, with opposite sex, either male or female, let us not assume, that we had tests with our partners, when we met,and therefore we are safe, sometimes, dues to some unexplained reasons,or known reasons,we go out of our way,to engage in Unsafe Sexual acts, without the knowlegde of our partners, and if we in a state of low consciousness, induced by Alcohol,we hop unto a 'new catch'whom we do not know from Adam and Eve,but just because the person is Handsome or Beautiful, there are chances we get infected, not only by HIV,But other Viral Disease,So am not only talking about HIV Infections here,so as long,as we have not gotten married,we must always practice safe sex, because we do not know the sexual habit of our Partners, neither could we control an Adult,so the Watch word here,is Always To Stay Safe!
